I'd like to just take a moment and state my preference when it comes to male slaves.
I realize that the majority of Gor has this way of calling them "boys"; I realize, too, that the general reasoning behind it is that if female slaves are called "girl", then it seems appropriate to call the male ones "boys." I don't agree with this.
It should be noted that in the books, even though a male slave and a female slave were both slaves, the male still (if commanded) had power over the female. As both were animals, the male animal is the dominant one.
It should also be noted that the only time the term "boy" was used was in reference to those who had not reached puberty. Yes, you can argue that Tarl himself, when in the temple in Kassau, called the 4 male slaves who were singing hymns "boys" but he also called them "young slaves" which would indicate that they were well, young.
Generally, male slaves were not very submissive, although there were some who were bred especially for this; and of course, some Earth men chosen for it. But for the most part, they were still men and most often doing hard labor jobs; where physical strength was needed over pleasant looks. They were often debtors, criminals, or enemies captured in battle.
For this reason; I do ask that you try to refrain from calling thralls as "boy." I know it goes against what some like, but I do feel it's a cross over from BDSM and has no true bearing here. They are not boys, they are enslaved men; and if I find a bondmaid tormenting one of mine, I will see to it that you are to serve him as a slave serves a master.
This is in regards only to my personal thrall(s) and any that are collared to the farm.
If your owner has a thrall on his/her chain, of course, do as they command you to.
